Chili Red hot (taiwan variety) diseases
Chilli Pepper
None Given
Hi! I'm Brandon, from Philippines. I'm first time chili farmer. I got half hectare chili farm as my experiment in chili farming. I got this terrible problem dealing with diseases due to heavy rain this past months. We elevate the plot and covered with plastic mulch. We divided the half hectare in three parts.
1st part- Old chili plants (inherited from my dad before he passed away) approximately 6 months old before we planted the new variety(Taiwan red hot).
2nd Part- We started transplanting July 15.
3rd Part- We started transplanting July 01.
**Rainy Season (August-September)
**Price of Chili is at Peak (October-December)
I noticed the disease (yellow green leaf) in 1st part (old plants) during August 13. then it was transferred to 2nd plot. We immediately sprayed insecticide (every 15 days) and fungicide( every 10 days) to treat disease(yellow leaves and fruit rotted) from being transfer to the 1st part. but after 1 month of spraying (mixed 40ml insecticide and 1 cup fungicide with 16L water) with every 5 days interval in the latter week, disease still transferred to 1st part which was sprayed with mixed insecticide and fungicide (5 days interval).
I am seeking your advice on what should be the process and how to treat diseases during rainy season. I am planning to plant a 5 hectare of chili next year (June). Need advice please..
I am grateful for your patience in understanding my experience and your advice in advance. Thanks
