I have a very irritating infestation of spider mites. I had started my mint varieties indoors early spring before planting outside. In my plant room I had a spider mite explosion and moved many plants affected outside, bathing sensitive plants in the tub. I also had a problem with fungus gnats, so I repotted everything. Most had recovered...until I wasn't careful with a gifted plant.

Upon harvest of the mint this morning I felt itchy. I looked at my hands and they and my arms were covered in hundreds of mites!

I use the mint fresh for tea, rather than drying it. What can I do that is safe for consumption to control other than spraying with water, which I already do?

Also, can I use this harvest after a proper wash off or might I injest some creepy crawlies? Too gross for me!
