Luffa gourd question

Gourd

I know that young luffa gourds are edible, but I have a question more about growing them. What temp. does the soil have to be for germination, and also for transplanting? I grew some transplants last year in Zone 6b in PA, USA, but apparently, I planted them too late in the year and got a tiny harvest. Does anybody know the average soil temps? Thanks!

Luffa gourd seeds sprouts and grow well when soil temperature is around 70 degree F (21C). Also they need 150 to 200 warm frost free days for better yield.
