The patches on leaves may be due to sun scorch. Generally prolonged hot, dry and windy weather or bright sunshine causes leaves to lose water and death of leaf tissue resulting in drying.
Providing shade during peak sun hours and adequate soil moisture helps in preventing sun burn.
