White growth in Cardamom plantation

This is a problem I noticed last month in my father's plantation. We are not aware of this. White color spreading around the one plant and it is spreading to other plants also. I think it is spreading to nearby trees too. Can I get information about this.

This image is not enough clearly to identify a cause. Can you take a close up of problem?
Though it seems to be a fungal disease caused by Sclerotium spp or Sclerotinia spp, there is not enough evidence to say this.
