Giant(ish) Pumpkin with white patch

Pumpkin    None Given

Growing in Epsom, South East of UK.
It was planted out a bit late, but has made good progress and is about 45 inches around.
It was grown from good seed.
I only water at the base of the plant.
I have kept it under a black piece of fleece to try to protect it from sun and cold.
The weather has been pretty good, the only thing is that the night time temperature did drop quite dramatically the other night. Could a sudden Chill cause problems?
The issue is that I noticed today a white patch and am really concerned that it may be some kind of fungus or bacterial infection, but can't find any images that look like this.
Also a couple of the leaves closer to the fruit have some bright yellow patches, could this be related?
Anyone know what might cause this?
And if so, is there a treatment?
Thanks in advance.

Well I've been away for a couple of days and it doesn't appear to have gotten any worse, so that's good.
It's even grown a little more :-)
