Why so big?

Lemon    None Given

Why would a tree start producing fruit this big about nine years ago? Some can cover a grown man's face.

Jennifer, do you apply any chemical treatments (fertilizers, pesticides) on your lemon trees?

Jennifer commented,
No, just the occasional and unavoidable animal urine, but that has been going on since the tree was planted. It produced normal sized fruit until the year my friend's husband died. She thinks it is a supernatural occurrence. What could do this? The white stuff between the skin and the actual fruit is most of this bulk. The fruit sections are quite large as well. And yes, it does taste like lemon, not grapefruit.

We have been in a four year drought. Don't think so.

Jennifer, it looks like your tree has too much nitrogen (animal urine?) and too little phosphorus. If application of rock phosphorus will not fix the problem, other reasons (virus, citrus greening disease, etc.) can be checked.
