Problem with kafir lime foliage

My grandma (in Malaysia) has a kafir lime tree that grows healthy deep green leaves which develop little spots, then the entire leaf yellows. There doesn't appear to be any browning of the leaf.
The affected area is currently only one side of the tree and confined to the lower and maybe middle branches on the western side. The prevailing wind is NE so probably not caused by sprays from neighbours. The neighbouring properties are all gardenless and my grandma is an organic gardener.
Please help us identify the problem! Is there a treatment?

Have you checked for insects? The stippling looks like a piercing-sucking insect, such as an aphid, could be the problem. I noticed also that you have some leaves that are little curled and distorted. That could also be aphids. Look very closely as they can be very hard to see, especially they are green or yellow. Aphids will have 2 pointed projections (you'll need a magnifier) coming off the back end that are called cornicles and the body will be pear-shaped. If you do see an insect, please post a picture and it will make it easier to identify the problem.

They didn't see the insects but there is a white crusty substance like crystallised salt on the underside of the leaves, mostly along the midrib. More of the tree is affected now than when I first posted.
