White stains on fig tree leaves

Fig    Pretoria, South Africa

Good day,

Wonder if you could please assist me to identify my fig tree's illness and what I can do to save the tree. Unable to load the pictures.

Thank you so much.

Thanks for the photos. The disease on your fig leaves is powdery mildew, a fungal disease. The damp soil favors the disease development. Please remove all the infected leaves and burn them. Water only when it is necessary.

The disease transmits from one leaves/ plants to another by flashing water. Avoid sprinkling water on plants.

Theresa commented,
Thank you Ravi, I will try it. Should I get any fungal treatment for the tree? It is 5 months old.

Dr. Ravishankar Narayana commented,
If the disease is severe you can spray diluted hydrogen peroxide (1 part of hydrogen peroxide in 9 parts of water) once a week.
