Diseased leaves on young lemon trees

Lemon    Melbourne, Australia

Hi. I am trying to grow some lemon trees from seed. They were going well, but now the top (older) leaves are looking shrivelled and diseased. Any ideas what this might be? Or how to fix it? Many thanks, Georgie

It is very hard to see they symptoms on the photo, could you upload some more, some close ups of the problem as well as the whole plant would be great

Thanks Lindsay. Yes - I didn't do a very good job capturing it in that photo did I! Here are a couple more - I bit better I think....

Thanks for those. On the second image am I correct in saying that there is damage to the upper leaf surface. it almost looks like something has stripped the epidermis from the leaf?

Georgie commented,
I had been spraying it with a very low concentration of washing detergent. Someone told me that this was a relatively organic way of keeping the bugs off the young tree. I am thinking maybe it's this. I will stop doing that and see what happens...
Thanks Lindsay.

I would suggest this is physiological stress. I would suggest re-potting to new soil in a bigger pot.
