Timing of planting potted raspberries

Raspberry

I just acquired a few raspberry canes from a friend who had them potted and I’m not too sure what to do with them at this time of year. Should I plant them now? I believe that they are summer fruiting although she was unsure what variety. Thank you in advance for your help.

It just the beginning of February and the UK has been having quite a cold winter so you should likely hold off planting the canes until April or Late march if it is nice and warm.
You could prepare the ground with manure and possibly using a trellis which they need.

This British video does a lovely job walking you through it all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h8cEM...

Good luck. Hope it goes well.

Thanks for the quick response David. Great video. I wish I knew the variety.
