Barley can be weeded manually or with the use of an appropriate herbicide to control broad-leaf weeds after the barley has emerged. Barley requires nitrogen application and this can be applied before the seeds are sown or after they have germinated. Production of 1 ton of barley grain requires nitrogen to be applied at a rate of 25 kg per hectare of crop.

Instead of using post emergence herbicides, it is advisable to use pre-emergence, apply immediately after planting. 6 months ago.
