Is instant coffee good for chili plants?

I have read a lot of things about ground coffee being good for plants, but i have never come across anything about instant coffee. The starbuck's in our neighborhood always runs out of used coffee grounds. I was wondering if instant coffee (deluted in water) is good for my chili plants?

Usually coffee grounds is used in preparing compost with other organic wastes. In general, coffee grounds contain 2% nitrogen (by volume), one of the major nutrient. According to some studies the high concentration of uncomposted coffee grounds around the plants causes stunting. So always compost the coffee ground instead of applying directly to soil.
Next question is can we use coffee (diluted or undiluted) directly as fertilizer? Generally brewed coffee has a pH ranging from 5.2 to 6.9 (depends on coffee type and method of brewing), which is acidic compared to ground coffee (6.5 to 6.8). Even though most plants prefer slightly acidic to neutral (5.8 to 7) soil one has to be cautious while applying coffee to plants.
